چکیده
Raised public expectation and increasing politicalpressure, in the face of mounting evidence thatsubstantial numbers of on-site wastewater disposalsystems perform poorly or fail, has resulted in therevision of State Government Guidelines and theAustralian Standard 1547. These revised guidelinesrequire a wider range of skills of Environmental HealthOfficers and others involved with the management ofon-site wastewater systems. In response to the increaseddemand for training in this area the Centre forEnvironmental Training, already established as theleading provider of training in on-site wastewater inAustralia, has developed a revised and updated On-site Wastewater Management Training Program. A keyelement of this program is the practical assessment ofsoils as a guide to the suitability of sites for on-sitewastewater disposal. The program provides participantswith an introduction to the skills of soil assessment.

متن کاملQuality assessment of treated wastewater to be reused in agriculture
In this study, the quality of a treated wastewater for agricultural and irrigation purposes was investigated. 39 quality parameters were investigated at the entrance of an effluent channel to the destination plain in monthly time intervals during a year. The aim of this study was drawing an analogy between analyses results and the latest standards in the world (nationwide and internationally), ...
متن کاملImpact of Distillery Wastewater Irrigation on Chemical Properties of Agriculture Soil
The utilization of treated agro-industrial effluents has been recommended as sound option for agriculture irrigations practices and sustainable land management programme. This paper presents the impact of utilizing treated effluent form a distillery industry on physico-chemical properties of soils in an agriculture plot. The effluent was applied in 50 and 100% strength and a control plot receiv...
متن کاملSwine effluent irrigation rate and timing effects on bermudagrass growth, nitrogen and phosphorus utilization, and residual soil nitrogen.
Maximizing utilization of effluent nutrients by forage grasses requires a better understanding of irrigation rate and timing effects. This study was conducted in 1998 and 1999 on a Vaiden silty clay (very-fine, smectitic, thermic Aquic Dystrudert) soil to determine the effects of swine lagoon effluent irrigation rate and timing on bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] growth, nitrogen (N) ...
